I recently had the chance to sit down with Finn Toner, the Nibs League Association’s newest rookie. He shared his story with us, from growing up in the hood to maining the fat man.

Leon: How many months are you now into your League Career?

Finn: I’ve been on and off for a while now. But I’ve really started to pick things up in the last 3 months, since winter break.

Leon: Who are your favourite champs and why?

Finn: If I had to pick one, Volibear. But recently I’ve been enjoying a lot of Gragas. I like how Gragas’ Q is a skill shot, and how you have to predict their movements. I also like how bursty his combo is and the playstyle with phase rush.

Leon: I know the first champ you picked up was Ahri. Why?

Finn: Because she’s hot.

Leon: You’ve recently hit level 30. How’s the ranked climb been?

Finn: Decent. Pretty happy with the Bronze II ranking. Think I can do better though, definitely Silver by the end of the season.

Leon: Can you talk about how growing up in Esquimalt has prepared you for the league?

Finn: I play with a hunger and intensity you won’t see in other players. I came from the projects. I haven’t had it easy my whole life like some of these other guys.

Leon: What’s your response to Matt’s latest claims that he’s better than you?

Finn: You know, I don’t really pay attention to the media. They’re always gonna be spreading narratives. I try to focus on myself. All I want to do is help my team win games.
